How can you make a difference in your community? Kelly McKnight of Sincerely Mama joined First 5 LA Communications Director Gabriel Sanchez on May 11 for a Q&A on Facebook Live where they discussed the importance of family-friendly spaces and the role community members can play in a child’s wellbeing.

Kelly is a passionate advocate for community-building and shared how connecting to other parents is key for combating feelings of isolation that many parents often face.

We were excited to sit down with the author, doula, educator and mother of three (and pregnant with her fourth!), to talk about all things community-building and connection, her favorite family-friendly places, “screen time” and what it means to be a “baby-wearing advocate.”
